History
On September 30, 2004 M-tron Industries, Inc. acquired Piezo Technology, Inc. These companies are now doing business together under the name MtronPTI. This combined entity is wholly owned by The LGL Group, Inc. (AMEX – LGL) with its headquarters in Orlando, Florida.
In 1965, MtronPTI began as a manufacturer of quartz crystals to the commercial and two-way radio. MtronPTI also developed a line of QPL crystals for military applications early on and remains MIL-PRF-3098 qualified today. MtronPTI has over 150,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing with its three manufacturing facilities located in Yankton, SD; Orlando, FL; and Noida, India. MtronPTI's Hong Kong subsidiary, M-tron Industries Limited, does not manufacture but does act as a buying agent, regional warehouse, quality control, and sales representative for its parent company.
In 1993 M-tron Industries became the first US based manufacturer of crystals and oscillators to receive the ISO-9001 certification. MtronPTI still maintains this qualification and continues to manage a rigorous quality control system today. To continue the development of being a customer focused company as well as maintaining internal engineering strengths; Champion Technologies was purchased in 2002. This acquisition provided the company with the ability to enhance its capabilities in designing and providing tight stability TCXOs and VCXOs.
MtronPTI offers a full line of products specifically designed and developed for the telecommunications, wireless, datacom, LAN/WAN, and PBX industries. MtronPTI can provide crystals ranging from standard specifications for microprocessors to tights specifications and high frequency fundamental crystals for telecommunications applications. Crystal oscillators are available in TTL, CMOS, HCMOS, ACMOS, ECL, and sinewave logic outputs. Products are also available in a broad variety of through-hole, ceramic, or plastic surface mount packages.
MtronPTI prides itself on the high standards that are set for its products; frequency control devices produce an electrical signal that has the following attributes:
Accuracy--the frequency of the signal does not change significantly over a period of time
Stability--the frequency of the signal does not vary significantly when our product is subjected to a range of operating environments
Low Noise--the signal does not add interfering signals that can degrade the performance of electronic systems
At MtronPTI, becoming the supplier of choice in the communications industry for frequency control devices is a top priority. This also means that speed is a top priority. Whether it is pushing the envelope on frequency or just improving your time to market, MtronPTI has your best interests in mind.
